An indicator of the industrial sector’s output is industrial production. Mining, manufacturing, and utilities are all included in the industrial sector. These industries make up a relatively tiny share of the GDP, but they are very susceptible to changes in consumer demand and interest rates. Since it may predict future GDP and economic performance, industrial production is a crucial tool. As high levels of industrial production can result in unchecked levels of consumption and quick inflation, central banks also utilize data on industrial production to measure inflation.
